Winning Team Publishing: Our Journey Together

25 December 2021

Our Journey Together is President Donald J. Trump’s Official Photo Book published by Winning Team Publishing, a conservative publishing house founded in 2021 by Sergio Gor and co-founded by Donald Trump Jr.

I first heard of the book’s existence while viewing a Life, Liberty & Levin Fox News TV show video where Mark Levin interviews former President Donald Trump. Mark mentioned the book during the interview and provided the URL where the book could be ordered, https://45books.com/.

Levin described the book as a coffee table book, probably because it is an oversized picture book interspersed with copies of handwritten notes by Donald Trump. Nevertheless, the book contains history…presidential history that should be preserved and remembered.

I found a number of peculiarities with the book. The first peculiarity being the omission of any pictures of the 2015 escalator ride down in Trump Tower or any other campaign events for that matter. The book begins with photos of the 2017 inauguration. The second peculiarity I found interesting is that there are no photos of Hillary and Bill Clinton probably because the book begins with the inauguration, even though Bill and Hillary did attend. It’s clear that Hillary’s “basket of deplorables” remark created much of the bad blood between her and Trump which further manifested itself in the Steele dossier. The third peculiarity is that there are only two photos in the entire book depicting anyone wearing a mask, pages 249 and 290.

It should be no surprise to anyone that the Our Journey Together book is somewhat unconventional being written by and for an unconventional man. So, it follows that this book review, if you can call it that, is also unconventional in that it is a review of a picture book without showing any of the pictures. On the other hand, this review will be relevant to those who either have the book or who remember the events described herein.

In the forward to the book on page 5, Trump credits the “Deplorables” for helping him to become president. This is the only reference whatsoever to Hillary Clinton.

Pages 10 & 11 show an ominous figure walking out towards the crowd before the inauguration.

Nice picture of Biden, Obama, and Trump on page 12. Surprisingly there are many pictures of Obama in the book.

Pages 14 & 15 depicts the crowds in attendance at the inauguration. Was CNN correct in its assertion? Did Trump really exaggerate the numbers in attendance?

On page 25, the unmistakable profile.

For the most part, there is very little printed text in the book. Most of the notes included were reproduced from handwritten official note cards. I’ve never seen a book formatted this way.

Also interspersed throughout the book are summaries of accomplishments taken from Trump White House Online Archives.

On pages 34 & 35 Trump tells it like it is, “weak RINOs.” McConnel looks like a deer in the headlights; Pence even looks sleepy while Paul Ryan gives a smirky kind of approval. Even Ron DeSantis looks concerned.

Page 42, I wonder why Trump didn’t like John McCain, maybe for the same reason(s) I never liked him even though I voted for him in 2008—I swear, Sarah Palin had nothing to do with that!

On pages 64 & 65 Trump meets with one of the titans of the tech industry, Mark Zuckerberg.

On page 70, Trump expresses his gratitude for having Jared and Ivanka with him in the White House, “loyal!” is one of the words he uses.

The photo on page 71 pays homage to the iconic photo of JFK, Jr. under the Resolute Desk. No one ever accused Trump of being subtle.

Best photo of Trump at the podium on page 78.

With Trump, loyalty is rewarded. Hence, the book includes the following individuals who made the cut and had their photos along with their name in print: Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Charlie Kirk, Jesse Watters, Jeanine Pirro, Diamond and Silk, Tucker Carlson, Pete Hegseth, and Laura Ingraham.

Nice photo on page 96 of a Paris flyover on Bastille Day.

On page 105, The expression on Pope Francis’ face looked as if his entourage had to convince him to smile, unlike Trump who had his usual smile.

There are many pages devoted to the southern border wall. I guess that’s the reason Biden couldn’t cancel its construction fast enough.

Again, page 114 and many other pages are devoted to Trump meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping. Trump has the unique talent of complementing someone while at the same time leveling harsh criticism, “…a man whom I totally respect. He loves his country and has brilliantly taken advantage of the U.S. for many years.”

On page 127 is a photo of Sylvester Stallone’s visit to the Oval Office in the White House. Somehow, I don’t remember ever hearing of his visit being covered by any of the networks.

Even one of the most controversial events were pictured on page 137 that of a fast-food spread put together for the Clemson University championship football team. Trump was accused of ruining America’s youth by promoting an unhealthy diet. Maybe he should have offered them tofu burgers instead.

Again, surprisingly, there are many, many photos of Marine One included in the book.

On page 150 is a photo of Trump, visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem wearing a Jewish kippah (yarmulke).

The Our Journey Together book is book of history among other things hence the reason Pelosi and Schumer photos are included.

Speaking of history, how many U.S. presidents would be able to pull off a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, at the DMZ, page 156, while crossing over into North Korea no less (not pictured). Say what you want about Trump, but he could mix it up with the best of them.

I’ve got nothing against Boris Johnson but looking at the photo on page 218 with him standing next to Trump, who looks more presidential? Who has more class?

Page 224 has the infamous photo of Nancy Pelosi screaming while lecturing and shaking her finger at the President of the United States during a cabinet meeting. Very respectful. So, who is destroying democracy again, I forgot?

Pages 264 through 267 contain really awesome photos of South Dakota’s Mount Rushmore.

Page 302 contains a power photo of Trump walking away from Marine One with the wind blowing his topcoat open. Reminds me of the very impressive opening credits to his former The Apprentice TV series.

Debating Joe Biden on page 308. What’s to debate? For all those Biden voters now, how’s it working out for you?

The book concludes with a few pages of rally photos and a B&W shot of the former president with the closing words: “America, our journey continues. Together we will take our country back. We will win!”

Now, for anyone who pages through the book, I’m sure they will get the distinct impression of being in another time…and it certainly was!
